Ishaq Dar says returning to Pakistan on Nawaz Sharif’s orders

LONDON: Former finance minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz senior leader Ishaq Dar has revealed that he has decided to return to Pakistan on the orders of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.  Ishaq Dar speaking to journalists in London said: “I am going to Pakistan in the fourth week of July on the orders of former prime minister Nawaz.” The PML-N stalwart further revealed that he has received his new passport and the doctor has also granted him permission to travel. Terming the cases registered against him ‘political victimization’, Ishaq Dar said his lawyers will move the court for protective bail before his return to Pakistan. Interest-free economy: PM Shehbaz Sharif assures JUI-F chief of withdrawing petition

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assured Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman of withdrawing appeal against the Federal Shariat Court’s (FSC) verdict on the interest-free economy, ARY News reported on Wednesday. JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman met PM Shehbaz Sharif today in which he expressed his reservations regarding the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) appeal against the interest-free financial system. He said that the appeals from the banks against the FSC order hurt the sentiment of the Muslim Ummah which considers the interest-based banking as a disastrous financial system in the country. The premier assured Fazlur Rehman of withdrawing the NBP’s appeal against the FSC verdict. ‘CPEC, economic linkages further deepen Pak-China relations’

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has asserted that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the growing economic linkages had deepened the roots of the abiding friendship between the peoples of Pakistan and China. The prime minister made these remarks during a meeting with Yang Jiechi, Member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Director of its Foreign Affairs Commission, who called him. During the meeting, the prime minister said that Pakistan stood ready to work closely with China for realizing both countries’ shared vision of connectivity, prosperity and public well-being. AD Khawaja sends legal notice to Rao Anwar over ‘false’ allegations

KARACHI: Former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Sindh Allah Dino Khawaja has sent a legal notice to former senior superintendent of police (SSP) Malir Rao Anwar,  asking for an apology over ‘false’ allegations against him, ARY News reported. According to details, Ex-SSP Malir Rao Anwar has levelled serious allegations against AD Khawaja and Sanaullah Abbasi in an interview with a private news channel. During the interview, the notorious former police official claimed that Sanaullah Abbasi had demanded illegal favours from him, seeking a piece of land along the highway and accused AD Khawaja of targeting him unfairly. In this regard, AD Khawaja has sent a Rs50 million legal notice to Rao Anwar and asked the former cop to apologize over ‘fall’ allegations. “Rao Anwar used defamatory words against AD Khawaja in the interview”, the legal notice stated, asking for unconditionally apology over the allegations. Govt finalises NAB Amendment Bill

ISLAMABAD: The incumbent government has finalised the draft of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) bill, ARY News reported.  According to the new amendment bill, now the big corrupts will be freed from the clutches of the graft-buster body. Corruption of more than Rs50 crore will come under the jurisdiction of NAB and a case will be filed in the court of the area where the person committed the crime, the proposed recommendations in the NAB amendment bill say. The draft states that if a person makes a plea bargain, it will not affect other persons in the same case whereas the Chairman NAB can dismiss any case in any court in whole or in part. After the amendment, the cases of former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Zardari, his sister, Sindh Assembly MPA, Faryal Talpur and Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah will be transferred to Sindh. HOVE: Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan and the left-handed opener Ali Orr shone with the bat as the duo powered Sussex to seal a scintillating victory over Derbyshire after an incredible run chase on the final day. Set to chase 342 on a rain-hit final day, Sussex did not hold back and produced an astounding run chase to seal their first victory since April 2021.
