Karachi university announces MBBS, BDS results

KARACHI: The University of Karachi has announced the results of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Fourth Professional and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) Second Professional. According to the announcement issued by the University of Karachi, out of 247 students, 233 students have been declared successful and 14 have failed in the MBBS Fourth Professional Examinations 2025. The success rate in the MBBS Fourth Professional Examinations has been 94.33%. In the BDS Second Professional Examinations 2024, 87 students have been declared successful, out of 98 students, 11 students have failed. The success rate in the BDS Second Professional Examinations has been 88.78%. LESCO cracks down on electricity theft in Bata Pur

LAHORE:  Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has successfully conducted an electricity theft crackdown in the Bata Pur sub-division to combat electricity theft and seized 15 bogus meters. The operation was executed with the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s directives and LESCO’s zero-tolerance policy against electricity theft, supervised by SE Eastern Circle Umar Bilal, and led by LESCO Chief Executive Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt. The electricity theft crackdown was performed by LESCO’s Anti-Theft Team in support of the DISCO Support Unit, local police, and Rangers. During inspections, authorities exposed installed fraudulent meters at several locations, by which illegal electricity was being consumed. During the LESCO’s investigation, it was revealed that the illegal meters were responsible for 32,594 units of electricity stolen, causing the financial loss of around Rs. 1,955,640. ECP announces by-election on 4 vacant seats after PTI lawmakers’ disqualification

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday announced the schedule for by-elections to fill four vacant seats, including one Senate seat, following the disqualification of three PTI lawmakers and the death of MNA Mian Muhammad Azhar. The disqualified PTI members include Senator Ejaz Chaudhry, Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Malik Ahmad Bhachar, and MNA Ahmed Chattha. Couple from Gujranwala shot dead in Karachi

KARACHI: The bodies of a man and a woman, both riddled with bullets, were found on Monday in the Boat Basin area of Clifton, Karachi. According to police, the deceased were identified as Sajid Masih and 17-year-old Sana Asif. The couple hailed from the same village in Gujranwala. A kidnapping case was registered against Sajid Masih and others in connection with the abduction of Sana Asif on July 15, 2025 in Gujranwala. According to SSP South, the victims were killed by unidentified assailants, who shot them and left the bodies at the scene. A mobile phone and cash were found near the bodies, along with two 9mm shell casings. Audit reveals 80 government vehicles missing in KP

PESHAWAR: A recent audit report has revealed 80 missing government vehicles in the official records of the Livestock and Dairy Development Department, which were purchased for several livestock development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) between 2007 and 2021, ARY News reported. In the audit conducted for the fiscal year 2023–24, major discrepancies have been found between the department’s submitted list of 97 vehicles and the Excise Department’s stats. According to the Excise records, an additional 80 vehicles were registered under the name of the Director General of Livestock. Punjab govt set to launch electric tram service in Lahore

LAHORE: Following the success of electric buses, the Punjab government is all set to introduce the electric tram service in Lahore. Imported from China, the first electric tram from has reached Lahore, which will initially be operated on Canal Road, according to an official. The tram consists of three interconnected units and runs entirely on electricity. With just a 10-minute charge, it can cover 25 to 27 kilometers and has a capacity to carry 250 passengers. At least nine passengers dead in Thatta, Khairpur accidents

THATTA/KHAIRPUR – At least nine people lost their lives and more than 60 sustained injuries in two separate road accidents reported in Sindh on Sunday, ARY News reported on Sunday, according to rescue and police officials. In the first incident, a passenger bus overturned near Thatta Bypass, resulting in six fatalities and injuries to 20 others.
