Karachi to receive light to moderate rain today: Met Office

KARACHI: The city’s weather will remain mostly cloudy on Wednesday as yesterday’s rainfall brought temperatures down. Karachi could receive light to moderate rain today, according to the Met Office. Minimum temperature in Karachi recorded 30 Celsius, while maximum temperature today likely to range between 33 to 35 Celsius with 77 percent humidity. The westerly winds blowing at 10 kilometers per hour speed, according to the weather report. The Met Office has said that the rainfall expected at noon today or in the night time. The sea breeze has lower speed, the winds likely to restore by the evening or night or night, according to the weawther report. Two cops among three martyred in Khyber firing

KHYBER: In a tragic incident, three embraced martyrdom including two cops in firing at police near Landi Kotal, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ARY News reported. As per details, the police spokesperson said that the incident occurred in the premises of Landi Kotal where unknown assailants opened firing on police near Charwazgai post. PTI’s Raoof Hasan shifted to Adiala Jail

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Raoof Hasan has been shifted to Adiala Jail, ARY News reported on Wednesday. On Tuesday, a local court in the federal capital sent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Raoof Hasan and other suspects to jail on a 14-day judicial remand in the anti-state propaganda case. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presented Hasan to District and Sessions Judge Shafiq Bhatti upon completing his physical remand. Hasan was shifted to Adiala Jail on Tuesday late at night. MoU signed to boost cricket game at grassroots level

ISLAMABAD: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Capital Development Authority (CDA), Higher Education Commission (HEC), and Inter Board Coordination Commission (IBCC) to boost the game of cricket at the grassroots level. The ceremony was attended by Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Chairman PCB and Federal Minister for Interior, and Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddique, Minister for Federal Education & Professional Training, as guests of honour. Fire breaks out in private ward of Dow Ojha Hospital

KARACHI: A fire broke out in the private ward of Dow Ojha Hospital due to short-circuit, ARY News reported on Tuesday, citing rescue sources. As per details, a fire erupted in the private ward of Dow Ojha located near Karachi’s Safoora Goth area. Following the fire, the administration evacuated patients and attendants from the ward. Second round of talks between govt, JI delayed

RAWALPINDI: The government committee, formed to negotiate with the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI),  did not hold the second round of talks on Monday due to undisclosed reasons, ARY News reported. The sources said that the government’s negotiation team, comprising Information Minister Atta Tarar, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, and Amir Muqam, had assured the JI that the second round would take place on Monday. The whole day has passed, but the government committee did not contact the party, the JI leader said. IHC seeks response on PTI office sealing plea

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday issued notices to the Metropolitan Corporation and other parties, seeking their responses on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central secretariat de-sealing request. Representing PTI, lawyer Ghulam Murtaza appeared in the court of Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz. One killed as oil tanker overturns onto a car at Karachi’s Baloch pull

KARACHI: In an unfortunate incident, a man lost his life when a speeding oil tanker overturned onto his car near the Baloch Colony pull in Karachi. According to rescue sources, the car trapped under the oil tanker was removed with the help of a crane. The deceased, identified as Asad, has been moved to Jinnah Hospital. Gujranwala man kills younger brother over ‘exorbitant electricity bill’

In a harrowing incident, a man killed his younger brother in a dispute over an inflated electricity bill in Gujranwala, Punjab. Pakistan concludes post-Hajj operations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan successfully concluded its post-Hajj operations 2024, the religion ministry said on Monday. Out of Pakistan’s total quota of 179,210 pilgrims, around 160,000 from the country performed Hajj this year through both the government scheme and private tour operators. KARACHI: A 6-year-old Karachi girl on Saturday recovered from drain after being torture and attempted to rape by the man residing in her neighbourhood of Quaidabad, ARY News reported. ISLAMABAD: The leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) held a meeting to end a three-week-long deadlock between the two parties, ARY News reported. JUI-F leader Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hyderi confirmed that a meeting was held between their chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman and PTI’s Asad Qaiser. He said that the PTI has already formed a committee for the talks, adding that the JUI-F has also decided to constitute the committee for the same purpose. Maulana Abdul Ghafoor said that his party and the PTI have had a significant rift for the past 10 to 12 years, adding that it would take some time to break the ice. FIA Interpol arrests nine wanted criminals from UAE

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) National Central Bureau (NCB) Interpol has arrested nine wanted criminals from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), ARY News reported. According to the FIA spokesperson, the arrested individuals were wanted by the Punjab Police in various cases. The arrested accused include Irfan Asghar, Farhan Nazakat, Samar Abbas, Najibullah, Saddam Hussain, Muhammad Rafeeq, Muhammad Saqib, Muhammad Usman, and Tariq Mehmood.
