Envoys of six countries present credentials to President Zardari

ISLAMABAD: The envoys of six different countries presented their diplomatic credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari, during a ceremony, held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The envoys of Kyrgyz Republic, the State of Palestine, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Uzbekistan, Kenya and the Republic of Turkiye, a press statement issued here read.

The president received credentials from Ambassador-designate of Kyrgyz Republic Avazbek Atakhanov, Ambassador-designate of State of PalestineDr Zuhair Mohammad Hamdallah Zaid, Ambassador-designate of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Choe Chang Man, Ambassador-designate of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev, High Commissioner-designate of Kenya Lt Gen (Retd) Peter Mbogo Njiru and Ambassador-designate of Turkiye Irfan Neziroglu. The envoys also also held separate meetings with the president.

Welcoming the envoys, President Zardari felicitated them on their appointment and expressed the hope that they would play their role in further improving mutually beneficial bilateral relations with Pakistan and their respective countries in the areas of trade, economy, and culture.

Earlier, the envoys were presented with a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan Armed Forces upon their arrival at Aiwan-e-Sadr.

Man arrested for harassing woman at Karachi’s market

KARACHI: District Central Police in Karachi have arrested a suspect, identified as Amir, for allegedly harassing a woman at a market in Sector 5M North Karachi, ARY News reported. Faisal Vawda foresees imminent sacking of a provincial governor

ISLAMABAD: Senator Faisal Vawda hinted at the removal of one of the provincial governors very soon. Speaking during the ARY News program, Senator Faisla Vawda said on Friday, “A provincial governor will be in troubled waters soon and his time is up. Without mentioning the name, Faisla Vawda said the governor in question has been selling his name, making money, and telling lies, now his turn has come, and he has to go home soon”. Vawda predicted that the governor’s removal would occur within the next week or two months but he will surely be removed from his post. President Zardari, Tayyip Erdogan discuss mutual ties

President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday held a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a brief stopover at Istanbul Airport en route to Portugal. Foreign Minister of Turkiye Hakan Fidan warmly received the president at the airport.
