ASWJ announces sit-ins at 60 locations in Karachi

KARACHI: The Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) has announced multiple sit-ins in the city amid the ongoing protest of Majlis-e-Wahdatul-Muslimeen (MWM) adding to the woes of Karachiites’, ARY News reported. The central leadership of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) announced sit-ins at 60 different locations in Karachi at 3:00 pm tomorrow (Tuesday). KARACHI: Multiple key roads in Karachi have been closed due to ongoing protests by Majlis-e-Wahdatul-Muslimeen (MWM), causing significant traffic disruptions throughout the city. According to the Karachi Traffic Police, the following roads are currently blocked due to sit-ins M.A. Jinnah Road, Numaish Chowrangi, Kamran Chowrangi is completely blocked from all directions due to MWM protests. At least six dead, 15 injured in trailer-van collision

NAUSHEHRO FEROZE: At least six people were dead and 15 others sustained injuries in a tragic accident between a trailer and van in Naushehro Feroze. As per details, the incident occurred at the National Highway, near the Chaar Meel area, where a trailer and a van collided, resulting in the deaths of 6 people and injuring 15 others. Six dead as car crashes into sugarcane tractor trolley amid fog

TANDLIANWALA : In an unfortunate incident at least six persons died and three were injured in a traffic accident amid fog in Tandlianwala town of Punjab, ARY News reported on Saturday. As per details, a devastating car accident claimed the lives of six members of the same family, including women and children, due to dense fog. Human smuggling bid foiled at Karachi airport, Indian links revealed

KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) foiled a human smuggling bid at Karachi airport on Friday, detaining four passengers with links to an Indian agent, ARY News reported. FIA immigration has taken a human smuggler among four passengers into custody who were trying to travel to Poland via Azerbaijan illegally. The suspects included Haseeb Ahmed, Qaiser Ahmed, Usman Ali and agent Abdul Shakoor. A spokesperson of FIA said that important pieces of evidence have been found from the mobile phone of human smuggler Abdul Shakoor who had links to an Indian agent, Gautam Sharma, who would have sent them to Poland via Azerbaijan. OGDCL enhances oil production from well in Hyderabad

ISLAMABAD: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan’s largest exploration and production company, has successfully revived and enhanced oil production from the Pasakhi-5 well, located in Hyderabad district of Sindh. According to a new release, the well is part of the Pasakhi Development & Production Lease (D&PL), with OGDCL holding a 100% working interest. As part of a strategic optimization initiative, OGDCL deployed a rig to install an artificial lift system (ESP) at the well to enhance oil production. RAWALPINDI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi on Saturday approved interim bail of Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, in 32 cases till January 13, her counsel said. According to details, Bushra Bibi appeared before the ATC along with her counsel and sought bail in total of 32 cases, including 23 pertaining to May 9 violence. The former first lady has been grated interim bail in 32 cases registered in Rawalpindi, Attock and Chakwal. She appeared in court at the hearing and provided the necessary surety bonds to obtain interim bail. Beware! Driving without licence in Karachi will land you in hot water

KARACHI: In an effort to improve road safety and reduce traffic congestion, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon announced that vehicles and motorcycles driven without a valid licence will be seized in Karachi. Exclusively talking to ARY News, IG Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon termed untrained driving, a major cause of traffic jams in Karachi and strict measures are being implemented to address the issue. Memon said that they are developing a system which will help in registration of cases against individuals fined for the same offence twice. IG Sindh further said that habitual offenders will be monitored through e-tagging, ensuring stricter accountability. SHOs who fail to register cases promptly will face consequences, including removal. SSPs will be held accountable for unregistered cases, he warned. Pakistan developing missiles that could hit US, says top US official

WASHINGTON: A senior White House official on Thursday said Pakistan is developing long-range ballistic missile capabilities that eventually could allow it to strike targets outside of South Asia, including in the United States. Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer said Islamabad’s conduct raised “real questions” about the aims of its ballistic missile program. “Candidly, it’s hard for us to see Pakistan’s actions as anything other than an emerging threat to the United States,” Finer told the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace audience. “Pakistan has developed increasingly sophisticated missile technology, from long-range ballistic missile systems to equipment that would enable the testing of significantly larger rocket motors,” he said.
